This is just the beginning of Camp Elements Campground

Camp Element was born from a desire to live a life that is more reflective to what my two oldest mothers lived. My great and great great grandmothers lived long lives that allowed them to witness their great great grandchildren.

During their time they didn’t utilize artificial lights and air. In the mornings they  pulled (opened) the curtains to let the sunlight. They’d let up windows and doors to allow fresh air to come through the house as well.

Any of my mothers could always be found outdoors (outside) under a shaded porch or tree after preparing a jar of tea to sit in the sun and seep. Their skin was always sun kissed, lungs filled with fresh air and they stayed hydrated with water. 

I decided that was the lifestyle I wanted to have. My grandfather told me “you live longer in the country”.

I wanted to extend this off grid rural living experience to others. Here, there’s nothing fancy, just the basics. Here we use brooms to sweep up daily, and use hand pumps to access water. We hand wash our clothes and hang them on the line to dry. We cook outdoors, remember back then you didn’t want to jeopardize your home by using fire indoors unless it was winter. However, we do have fire extinguishers.

For those who may struggle re-acclimating yourselves to the sun, there are air conditioning units available in each dwelling that will have to be ran by generator. Generator is available upon request as well as fuel can be provided for a small fee.
